The Catholic Identity Team

Following a review of POL teams and communication pathways in 2022, a number of teams saw a name change to more correctly identify the ambit of that team and also saw an expansion of team members.

The name of the ‘Ministry Team’ was changed to the ‘Catholic Identity Team’ to more accurately reflect its work and concerns. The task of the CIT is to develop the faith and spiritual formation of staff and students, oversee the College sacramental and liturgical program and social justice.

The CIT meets fortnightly and is made up of the following members: DP Faith and Mission (CHAIR) Charles Watt, College Principal (Loretta Wholley), Dean of Junior School (Anita Kelliher), Liturgy and Social Justice Coordinator (Phoebe Nondares), CL Religious and Faith Education, (Mary Fahey), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Officer (Marea Lanki), Co-opted Staff Members (Natalie Vander Sluys).

In our first meeting this year we planned for our Ash Wednesday liturgies and how we will support Project Compassion and Caritas Australia’s call to donate to support the people of Türkiye and Syria. Among other items, the CIT started planning for the Opening School Eucharist on 8 March and the International Women’s Day breakfast on 3 March. In all our planning we are attentive to the Catholic Identity of º«Å®Ðã and its FCJ tradition. This year a theme that will run through all our events will reflect our College theme for 2023 — A Heart for Justice.
