º«Å®Ðã Success at Generations in Jazz

Friday 3 May saw 32 students from the º«Å®Ðã Music Department join more than 5400 performers at this year’s Generations in Jazz. More than 130 schools from Australia and New Zealand travelled to Mount Gambier, South Australia, to enjoy performances by internationally renowned jazz musicians and compete in the National Stage Band, Vocal Ensemble and Jazz Combo Awards.

Performances from all three bands were of an excellent standard and received high marks and positive comments from adjudicators. Congratulations to our Stage Band who came first in their Division and to three of our musicians who were selected from hundreds of other students to be part of a Generations in Jazz Super Band. Well done to Big Band’s Emma, who received a place in the GIJ Division 4 Super Band, and Stage Band members, Elena and Genevieve who were chosen to join the GIJ Division 3 Super Band. What an outstanding achievement!

Head of Jazz and Contemporary Music
